And another exciting event, this time in Lancaster. The Institute for Advanced Studies at Lancaster University has been running events under the theme of ‘experimentality’ since October 2009, and this conference (7 – 9 July 2010) will be their closing event (obviously not in an intellectual sense). The conference announcement reads that it ‘will bring together scholars, artists and practioners from a range of domains to explore and debate what a genuinely experimental society would be like’. Some of the people involved are: Ulrich Beck, Dieter Daniels, Bülent Diken, Silvio Funtowicz, Josephine Green, Tim Ingold, Scott Lash, Helga Nowotny, Jerome Ravetz, Gísli Pálsson, Bronislaw Szerszynski and James Wilsdon.
Would really like to go, but am not sure I can make this one – unless I can put my tent up in somebody’s front garden. Any takers?
